The Grief Recovery Method
Grief is defined as the “conflicting emotions that follow the ending or change in familiar patterns of behaviour.”
This complex emotional state has nothing to do with our intellect. We cannot rationalise ourselves better. Recovery, therefore, is not about understanding grief on a rational level, it's about learning the language of the heart. When we do that, we can start feeling better.
I was introduced to the Grief Recovery Method in 2019, during my own recovery from a Head Injury which had lead me on a very challenging journey (physically, mentally and emotionally).
Attending the Grief Recovery Method Training gave me the opportunity to explore, witness and complete the emotional losses experienced during this journey and also to raise and work on past significant emotional losses encountered that had subtly stayed hidden within me.
I went on to complete my Advanced Training in April 2020 which has enabled me to deliver the programme Online and extend my geographical ability to work with clients far and wide.
The Grief Recovery Method is a scientifically proven, evidence based, educational programme which takes you through a specific step by step approach to enable you to heal both present and unresolved significant losses and will also equip you with the tools to assist you through future losses that you may experience.
I am also trained and licensed to deliver the Helping children with Loss Programme which educates parents, teachers and any adult who is involved or responsible for children and young adults, on how to communicate with “our” children and young adults in an effective, supportive and safe manner to enable them to process and work through loss.
